Infectious Innovation Event |
These may half or one-day events.
The half-day event allows participants to spend time releasing your innovation potential by: |
· Loosening up those little grey cells Explore why we need to innovate and examine the typical blocks to personal creativity and organisational innovation. Then limber up, break some thinking rules and exercise your creative muscle. |
· Discovering your preferred Team Innovation Role Solving complex problems usually takes more than one mind, and successful innovation often requires different personal styles/attributes depending on where you are in the process. At different times we need to:
- Originate ideas - Promote, develop and advance ideas - Enhance, test and challenge ideas - Navigate and lead the idea to a successful outcome
We have elements of all of the above available in us, but there is usually a style which we prefer to adopt when problem solving or working in a team situation. Using the OPEN Innovation profiling tool you will discover your innovation profile and your preferred role during the innovation process. |
· Using the Rainbow creative problem solving methodology
If we do not have a robust and structured approach to problem solving we can spend far too much time endeavouring to find a possible solution.
The Rainbow approach is a seven stage methodology, using each colour of the visible spectrum, which takes you from problem formulation to solution implementation. It uses a combination of hard/soft, right brain/left brain thinking. It is easy to learn, yet powerful in its application. (A full description is provided separately) |
It may then be extended to a full day event by adding either the Rainbow or TableTop Solutions™ modules |
Introduction to TableTop Solutions™
The half session enables participants to gain an appreciation of the approach.
TableTop Solutions™ uses model building, in a similar way to architects and military strategists, to illustrate the problem and develop the solution. In addition to providing a 3-D map of the problem the artefacts allow participators to introduce powerful metaphors that can both add a deeper level of understanding and also provide a springboard for fresh and original ideas. Storytelling has been fundamental to human development throughout the ages, and the TableTop model provides a focal point that enables the ‘builders’ to provide a rich description and the ‘audience’ to ask the ‘good’ questions.
