Event Outline

The philosophy underpinning the event is to lead the team through a development process under its own steam by providing a supporting structure, guidelines and materials.

The five self-directed one-day workshops comprise:

  • Work and Goals (team and manager)
  • Leveraging the team assets
  • Planning better teamwork
  • The Team-Manager interface (team and manager)
  • Individuals in the team
  • The manager action learning workshops will comprise:

  • Shared Expectations - Before the programme commences.
  • Shared Experience - Between team workshops 2 and 3.
  • Shared Learnings - After team workshop 4.

Duration

Typically the Self-Directed Team programme follows the format outlined below:

  • Team Members: Five one-day workshops held over a two to three month period.
  • Team Managers: Three half-day action learning workshops run in parallel to the team sessions.
  • The style and approach may be modified to meet the particular needs of the organisation.
